This week's Christmas Card Challenge was use chocolate, cream and cranberry on a card! This is a quick post, we're on our way out of town for the Labor Day weekend. Hope you have time to participate. School starts next week and then we are back to are regular schedules at home. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things! It's going to be a new experience for us since we have one more person in our house this school year, but he's not starting school for quite a while. =)
Happy Labor Day Weekend!
This was such a fun card to make! This week's Christmas Card Challenge was Use A Photo! I thought this photo would be perfect for incorporating a gingerbread person for my Baby B to look at with her sassy pose! So I used my EK Success gingerbread person punch and I used one of my Papertrey Ink dies (signature series - limitless layers circles). If you can't tell, I'm a huge fan of my Big Shot. I can't believe how long I waited to buy that crafting toy!!
Sorry I missed the last two weeks of Christmas Card Challenges - it has been really busy at work at Baby E has been fighting a cold. I fear that teething is on the horizon which means even less sleep for me! UGH! All worth it and of course I still want more!
Hope you play along this week! I'll be blurfing looking for your creations!
This was such a fun card to make! This week's Christmas Card Challenge was Recycle! Now you might or might not know this, but I live in Seattle. So I wanted to recycle something from Starbucks, so I used some of my Papertrey Ink dies (signature series - flower and limitless layers circles) and used the green Starbucks sleeve to make the flower on this card! I also used my Papertrey Ink banner basics dies on this card . . . again. If you can't tell, I'm a huge fan of Papertrey Ink dies. They have such a great variety and their galleries are filled with wonderful ideas and inspiration!
The sentiment is by Memory Box and the snowflakes are A Muse Rubber Stamps (now A Muse Studio). I've never really been one to have so much detail and/or layers on my cards. I'm enjoying trying out some new techniques - well, new to me at least.
Hope you play along this week! I'll be blurfing looking for your creations!
How can this be the last day of July already?! Time sure has flown by this month.
For this week's Christmas Card Challenge we are using a sketch. I love sketches, makes it so easy to put together cards. On this card I used a variety of Memory Box papers, a Martha Stewart punch for the leaves and the sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set called Take a Bough. I also used a Papertrey Ink Fillable Frame die #10 on the card with a circle from the Limitless Layers circle die set. I enjoyed the opportunity to add layers to this card with this sketch. I'll definitely be doing more cards for Christmas using this sketch.
Look forward to seeing your creations, I hope you played along this week!
This week's Christmas Card Challenge is Plaid! I love plaid for Christmas - especially for scarves. This card uses some of my favorite Papertrey Ink dies. I recently purchased a Big Shot and I've been so happy with it! There are endless opportunities for a variety of creations with that die cutting machine! I've also purchases a handful of fun dies to use that I absolutely love so far!
The sentiment is from Catslife Press - another favorite stamp company of mine. They are a quirky little company with great stamps for scrapbooking and card making.
I hope you play along this week and I look forward to seeing your creations!
This weeks Christmas Card Challenge is sponsored by Paper Makeup Stamps! The Paper Makeup Design Team will be joining our DT this week in using their images for CCC#33. Be sure to check out this wonderful sponsor and all their images on their website. For this week's card I decided to use the Moody for Reading image. I really love their Moody images, they remind me of teenagers. I could totally see my little girl acting like this at the age of fourteen . . . heck, I'm already starting to see signs of her moodiness and she's only FIVE!
I used a little twine and another Papertrey Ink die for the little tag. I hope you'll play along this week and take a look at our sponsor's website. I look forward to seeing what you create!
Here is my card for Christmas Card Challenge blog for week 32! This time I used Memory Box images. I have always loved this little penguin. I have the Penguins at Play clear stamp set. It's such a versatile set to use throughout the year. It would be great for use in making a calendar! This particular penguin is the Cap Penguin 724 and I used the stack of presents from the Penguins at Play set. The hat and the stack of presents is done using paper piecing. The sentiment is an old Hero Arts stamp I have had for ages.
Hope you play along! I look forward to seeing your creations this week.
Here's my first card for the Christmas Card Challenge Blog for week #31. For some reason I had such a hard time with this prompt! Maybe I just need to get into the swing of making Christmas Cards in July. It's all such a new process for me to be making holiday cards in the summer. LOL! So this card uses an acrylic stamp set by one of my favorite scrapbookers - Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy).
The background paper is also from the Dear Lizzy line. I love her papers because they have two sides to them and the colors are non-traditional. I like the idea of mixing pink and green. . .although I didn't do that this time. HA!
The stamped caption at the bottom reads:
"not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there."
You can find this acrylic stamp set here at Amazon. I love it! All images stamped on this card are from this set. Hope you played along and I can't wait to see your creations!!
On a side note - today is my 7th Wedding Anniversary! I'm so happy to have such an amazing husband and family in my life. So grateful for all the wonderful things that have happened to us in the past 12 1/2 years we've had together. I am a lucky girl!
July 3, 2004
Well the announcement has been made, so I can finally share a little secret I've had for about an month now. I've joined a design team to help motivate me to get some Christmas Cards done early this year. It's with a local Seattle gal (Sparkle) who started a Christmas Card Challenge blog. It's a fun group of ladies and I'm looking forward to creating some Christmas cards so that I'm not behind when the holiday season rolls around!
So if you're interested in getting a little holiday crafting done early, check out the blog for challenges and ideas. I'll be posting my cards weekly!
Happy card making!
I embrace the imperfections of my art and celebrate the everyday.
